We made a class graph to see if there are more boys or girls in the class? This was a great way of making math a hands-on experiment and to show the class that math is all around!
We have 8 girls and 14 boys!
We had a classroom engineering design challenge! We read the book The Gingerbread Man Loose at The Zoo. After reading the book, the class had some questions: What animals live in a zoo? Do all the animals live together? Who builds the zoo? Now it was time for the engineering design challenge! The students’ mission was to select materials and then build their own zoo. The discussion between the students was phenomenal! Everyone wanted to share their point of view.
The students continued graphing. The students are developing math skills in organizing numbers and plotting data.
